Charles H. Rickman, Sr., 84, died peacefully at home on July 3, 2010.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday July 9, 2010 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood St. Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday July 8, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Condolences may be sent to the family via email at www.dawson-wikoff.com
Charles was born on January 20, 1926 in St. Louis, MO., the son of Nolan and Louise Fenton Rickman. He married Imogene French, the mother of his children on November 23, 1946 and she preceded him in death on December 23, 2006. Charles proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Air Corp. He worked and eventually retired from Bridgestone/Firestone in Decatur. During much of his lifetime Charles was an avid woodworker.
Charles and Imogene had two children, daughter Cathy Rickman and son Charles Rickman, Jr. His son Charles preceded him in death on June 27, 2005.
Charles is survived by his daughter Cathy Rickman, daughter in law Sarah Rickman, grandchildren Brian Rickman and Michael Rickman and great grandchildren Kieran Rickman and Aedan Rickman.
